Thanks for the follow-up phone call Tuesday, it was very thoughtful and appreciated.
You and your team went out of your way to cater for my limited time frame and have delivered an excellent product.
When I enquired about your services I was advised to have a Unichip piggy back ECU installed and to have a custom tune.
The chart you supplied shows an increase of around 24 KW and an increased torque band over the entire power range.
I was able to have an extensive test drive on the way back to Canberra, I noticed driving around Sydney better take off at lights and was suitably pleased.
I was also impressed with was the mid range power improvement between 2500 and 3500 rpm.
Cruising down the highway at about 110 at around 2600 rpm and the response was immediate when I put the foot down to overtake accelerating to 120+ with ease.
Most heartening was the the car’s seeming new ability to climb hills without having to change down gears.
Fuel consumption on the return trip showed a noticeable improvement from the trip up to Sydney.
I am in the process of checking the fuel consumption driving around town etc over the next week or two so will get back to you soon with those figures.
Overall you and the Tunehouse team are extremely professional and customer focused. I have no hesitation in recommending your services to anyone who will listen.

I had first learned about the Unichip on the FT-86 forums. I was looking for a tuning system without an OE ECU footprint that could be traced if I ever needed to warranty the car. At first I was a little wary of issues that I had heard of with older piggyback units – but after speaking to both Paul and Jack, I was confident that they had a solid product. The Australian variant also comes with a 2-year warranty so that helped put my mind at ease.
The PnP kit was a breeze to install and it came pre-tuned for the AU version of the 86. Anyone who has driven the 86 knows that it’s an absolute blast to drive. It loves to tail out a bit on every corner but the one thing that let’s it down is its lack of grunt.
After installing the kit, the first thing I noticed was that there was a significant increase to low end torque. Taking it around the block and onto the freeway I noticed that top end power had also improved a lot.
The best bit about it was that I knew I could take everything off when I went to get it serviced and just put it on again straight after!
All in all – loving the results. Thanks again guys!
Just a short note to say thank you and express my appreciation for the fantastic job you and your team did on my Toyota 86 GTS. The work done is of an exceptional standard and the result achieved is beyond my expectation. The improvement is really noticeable and I am delighted with the response in the car once you hit 4000 rpm and above. Didn’t know it was possible with standard exhaust and inlet.
