Colder air has a higher oxygen density, therefore, the burn reaction is more effective, producing more engine power and greater kilometres.

Cold air intakes operate by removing the regular airbox and fitting the vehicle with a metallic or plastic tube.  This in turn leads to a conical air filter.

In this way, the cold air intake keeps the outside air cool relative to the engine environment, allowing for better combustion reactions.
