Super finishing or CASF (Chemically Accelerated Surface Finishing) is a metalworking process.  Pitting and ridges can occur in metals resulting from stress, heat and friction. However the super finishing process will restore and enhance the part.

Thus improving the longevity of all steel billet cam shafts once the tiny imperfections on the surface are milled.

The further refining  process generates a better overall cam shaft surface profile and finish to maximise the benefits.

With four drums working together along with a polishing media the final product results in a super finish.  The whole process can take anywhere from 15 minutes upwards.

These drums rotate in the opposite direction of the barrel rotation. This combined rotation of the barrel and drums creates two tons of force on the media and cam shafts.

The key in all this, however, is having the capability to precisely measure various lobe features to improve the camshaft structure.
